God said, let there be man, and there was. He said, let there be woman. And there was. Sensible guy he was. World peace has never been any better than when it was just the two of them. Until adam discovered the fruit of life… hence cane and abel. The tally; three men, one woman- imagine poor eve smack in the middle of all that macho crap. The equality battles still rage on.
No wonder poor woman had no say when her sons wanted to produce and multiply with HER
20 loungers burdening me:
Really. By that time there were definitely more than 3 people on earth. So your claim is rather shady
Man!!!!!! i get the macho crap thing but for you to say her sons wanted to produce n multiply with HER smacks of....((some word im sure hasnt been invented yet))
Please clue me in on where in the BIBLE it says that. Im really itching to know, learn from whence this inspired thought sprung
dante and tandra are right. that is totally wrong, they did not sleep with their mother.
hey all, but there is a part where Cain meets Lamech... ei it was more than Adam and Eve in the beginning
babe, the Bible mentions the creation of Adam n Eve...it doesnt say God stopped creating which means He musta go on.
plus if u read Gen. 4 after Cain had killed Abel and he'd been banished he mentions being killed by peoples he myt meet on the way and God assures him that he wldnt be harmed.
after that Cain lays with his wife and gets a son Enoch. hello!
meanwhile Adam n Eve have another son called Seth hello!
if there wasnt anyone else in the world..y wld he be concerned for his Life. where'd he get a wife from?
@ everyone, God created only Adam and Eve. they are our ancestors. it does not say God created any more people. infact he ordered them(adam and eve) to go forth and multiply. so where did we all come from?
think you need to seriously go read your Bible. specifically Genesis... its the first book of the Bible, yes book.
Flawed arguement antipop.. if you could back it up with some proof, i would be eternally grateful.
In any story, there are people who are highlighted. U cannot argue that Speke or Livingstone explored by their lonesomeselves because their crew or watever werent mentioned.
You cannot argue that i dont have a brother simply because i dont mention him, i might just think he is not relevant to the story im telling now, you see.
If you read Cains story, u will note that he was banned from the garden and he feared for his life, as earlier stated.
My question then is, at what point do u think he snuck in to have his kid with his mother. Because the Bible did say he laid with his wife and had Enoch.
When did he come back to this garden from which he was banned?
Unless ofcos you are implying the God isnt all Knowing and all seeing....
@tandra this is not at all a religious war/debate or whatever. but while we are at it, are you saying God created more than just Adam and Eve then? does it say that in that book Genesis? also, if you never mention your brother tandra, surely i am free to speculate that he does not exist. anyway, like i said this is not a religious war, so the question "am i implying that God is NOT all knowing and seeing" will go unanswered. EVERYONE, THIS POST IS ABOUT CHAUVINISM AND NOT BLASPHEMY.
@antipop - I'm sure you didn't start this out as blasphemous rant. Understood. However when you start referencing the Bible with such little knowledge of the source material you definitely risk pissing off a lot of Christians - which you did. So the point about chauvanism gets lost in the process. For the record, the Bible does imply God created more people even though it doesnt explicitly say so. You'd have to really read what people have been commenting - or that tiny bit in the Bible to come to this conclusion. So if one was to make an argument on whether or not God created more people, wouldnt it be better to imply from Bible doctrine as opposed to personal opinion? My point being implying such prominent figures in Christian doctrine were incestous persons, based on your own personal opinion - with no proof other than "It is not explicitly written in the Bible - so i can infer whatever i want" is very very insulting.
i made an error, im sorry, they were already out of the garden by this time,yeah... carnal knowledge will do that to you ((grins)). I apologise
u r right, this aint a war, debate, watever.its just expression of dissent
u cant really blame us for getting stuck at that part, the allusion to Eve was just too controversial babe.
chauvinism has n will prolly always exist.
I guess it started when God made Adam first and eve second. And told her all that hogwash about being submissive, I guess it got to mans head.
i dont know what this is about but Antipop is right.
Ok people now this is some tight stuff.Coming to think about it, yeah,so where did we all come from?
anyone free for a Bible study? free of charge. we shall go through the entire Old Testament if we must, not to prove we are each right, but with a mind to find the truth. be that as it might, i refuse to put in my two cents worth. it would be a really, really long discussion with lots of scripture quotations. and I'm not claiming to be expert either, just studious.
P.S. Love the shoes post. Really, really beautiful.
hmm.
Come on people the Bible says God created and I repeat created Adam then Eve on the sixth day after which he rested on the seventh. No more creations. So that is Adam and Eve who had two boys who in fact founded wars when Cain Killed Abel. That makes it two men now and one woman. Since God had stopped creating where did this Enoch come from unless you mean to say that we are not all decendants of one mand and woman that we are in fact different that is why some of us are black others white. Unless Bill Maher is right. That the bible is a collection of Jewish tales. Someone answer me pliiiiiiiiiz. This is a worthy blog by the way
hey antipop,i liked this post. disregard the voices of dissent. the truth is Bible stories, without spiritual insight, are open to lots speculation. and u were just speculating...
meanwhile i hadnt thot of it tha way before - one chic (eve), and three blokes.
by the way, eve definitely had daughters, but they werent mentioned there (women rarely were in the old testament, so here's me heading back to the chauvinism debate!)
i enjoy exactly how you receive your level throughout.
